1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference site with no government connection. It does not keep official criminal records, obtain records for visitors, perform official checks, or file documents on anyone's behalf.

Its function is to identify custodians of Brown County criminal records, such as the Sheriff's office, the courts that hear criminal matters, the Texas Department of Public Safety Crime Records Division, and the Texas Public Sex Offender Registry. Links may also connect visitors to outside research tools.

• Make any other decision regulated by the FCRA
• Determine eligibility for a license, permit, or government benefit
• Assess creditworthiness or establish an insurance rate
• Evaluate a renter or housing applicant
• Make a hiring, retention, or termination decision

When an authorized purpose requires a compliant check, use the proper Texas Department of Public Safety process or a qualified FCRA-compliant screening provider.
